Schwoboe alum, Ivan Garcia, was recently appointed principal oboe of the University of Nuevo León Symphony Orchestra in Monterey, Mexico! We are thrilled for Ivan’s success but will miss him dearly in Columbus! 💕Go Schwoboes!!!

We welcome Juan David Torres to the Schwoboe studio at CSU!

Juan David is originally from the state of Puebla in Mexico, and will be pursuing his Artist Diploma Certificate in oboe performance at the Schwob School this upcoming Fall 2026.

He is very excited to develop his musical and professional skills, learn about new cultures, and becoming an orchestra musician.

Dr. Dora Proud recently won the principal oboe position with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra! We are so proud of Dora! Go Schwoboes!

🎉 Congratulations to Schwoboe Erin Fowler who graduated from CSU with a Bachelor’s in Music Education and Certificate in Public Musicology! Next Fall, Erin will be attending the Eastman School of Music for a MA in Musicology.

🎉 Wrapping up the Spring semester 2026 with the traditional Schwoboe de Mayo annual gathering. Mingus got exhausted from cheering the crowd and co-hosting the event 🐾

Schwoboe Erin Fowler .fow has been recently accepted into the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, and will be pursuing a MA in Musicology this upcoming Fall 2026.

Erin is currently a Music Education Major at the Schwob School of Music and she will graduate this Spring before starting her graduate studies. Congratulations Erin! 🎉

🔔 Join the Schwob Contemporary Ensemble this Friday March 13, 7:30 pm in Legacy Hall. This performance includes works by Olivier Messiaen, Robert Patterson, and the premier of “Labyrinth of Uncharted Visions” by Liliya Ugay.

🔔 Join the Schwoboes and the Schwob Philharmonic Orchestra this Monday March 2, 7:30 pm in Legacy Hall, for the first orchestra concert of the semester.

Featuring Schwob Bassoon Faculty Dr. Sara Fruehe performing Ciranda Das Sete Notas by Heitor Villa-Lobos, the program also includes Larsen’s Deep Summer Music; Chavez’s Sinfonia India, and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9.
