20 years ago, I graduated with my Master's from The Ohio State University. Time flies! My undergraduate graduation picture would be a bridesmaid photo from my brother's wedding, and that high school graduation pic doesn't feel like it was as long ago as it really was!

Zero is not the answer because it is a number. It is possible that zero people could have answered horror, and then that would have been used to find the mean, median, mode, and range.

Story problems during my math sessions are like Mad Libs. I asked my student what kids are collecting right now, so I could use that item in our problem. She answers Calico Critters which I wasn't familiar with. When she showed me, I had a major flashback to my childhood.

Almost 40% of my families this year were students in 7th grade. Some of these kids were in Math 7, some were in pre algebra, and a couple were in algebra.
In my opinion, 5th grade and 7th grade have a lot of foundational topics. Fifth grade is heavy on all things fractions and decimals. Seventh grade talks about percent, real life money situations, ratios, and combining like terms which preps kids for algebra.
Summer is a great time to work with a tutor to help your kids keep their momentum when heading into the next grade.
