Mettle Services awarded Behavioral Health Accreditation

Mettle Services has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

Mettle Services underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review on December 1st, 2021. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with behavioral health standards spanning several areas.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Mettle Services for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”

NEW Summer Program Option

Highland Community Learning Center is pleased to offer a summer program option to our families beginning in the summer of 2021. As always, transportation will be provided, and there will be no cost to families. If your student is already enrolled at Highland Community Learning Center, you need only to notify our office that you wish to participate.

We are also opening our program to students from other schools/districts, while space permits. Please begin the enrollment process here and indicate that you wish for your student to attend our summer session. Students with autism and other developmental disabilities attending a Central Ohio K-12 school are welcome to attend.

Staff at Highland Community Learning Center will work closely with you and your child to determine a program that is unique to your child and their specific needs. Our goal is to provide academic and behavioral support to set the foundation for a more successful upcoming school year, and to minimize summer regression.

Students will:

Participate in intensive reading and math intervention
Receive additional support in mastering IEP goals and objectives
Work one-on-one with certified teachers and intervention specialists
Participate in available counseling services

We offer more than education to our students. As a school that caters to those with special needs, we offer IEP services, transportation to and from school, virtual learning options and much more. Our staff is not only trained to improve the communication/socializations skills of our students, but they will administer services required by the student's IEP as well. These services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, individual counseling, anger management and individual group counseling.
