This principle teaches us "To build and maintain our community together and to make our Brother's and Sister's problems, our problems, and to solve them together". The Ujima Village child care program is flexible and accommodating in order to help parents attain their goals of providing for their households. The program also helps children become more adept at helping out around the home and in th
e community. Ujima Village offers care for infant to pre-school aged children, as well as a latchkey option for parents with school-aged children. Ujima Village also offers an out-of-school summer learning program for Elementary-aged children. Tutoring and early development lessons are offered at Ujima Village. In addition, Ujima Village offers “life lessons” for pre-school and school-aged children that include “Kids in the Kitchen”, gardening, entrepreneurship and self-care. Ujima Village encourages parental and community involvement in all aspects of care for our young. We remember that in the care and rearing of our children, it truly “Takes a Village”.
