Respect Thy Teachers… 01/02/2024

An Administrator's Perspective on Restorative Practices Not long after becoming a superintendent I had two experiences that woke me up to the chilling fact that teachers were no longer safe in their own classrooms. Given the respect that I know was expected for adults in my home, it is hard to fathom how blatantly students could disrespect their teachers, but these two experiences brought to light the danger our teachers face in their schools....

Are your kids in "Healthy Buildings?" Dynamix Energy Services offers the most current strategies, services, and software to help make all schools safe. As I listen to Gov. DeWine and the doctors today it is clear that Indoor Air Quality is as important as PPE and hand sanitizing. A good controls system can efficiently circulate fresh air/ventilate, control humidity, properly filter, and even use advanced strategies such as UV and bipolar ionization. DES has all your solutions of which CARES Act funds can be used to address. Please feel free to refer folks to me if they have questions.

What a great opportunity for faculty, staff, and students on college campuses to embrace science, common sense, prudence, thrift, good judgement and kindness to defeat the virus, promote education, and defeat the virus! Let us all consider how we might defeat our common opponent which is not each other!

My Two Cents: Why Mitch Daniels Has it Right on Re-Opening Campus in Fall Statistics used by Purdue president Mitch Daniels says that students are at a very low risk in this COVID-19 pandemic, and he believes having students back on campus in the fall — and acting smartly — is the right next step.
