Lyrikos Music Lessons

We're doing another yoga class with live piano at Goyoga Upper Arlington tomorrow from 5:00-6:30 PM! I'll be playing some new tunes by Philip Glass and Ludovico Einaudi with some classics from Chopin, Debussy, and more while Olivia Hall guides us through a very peaceful and chill restorative flow. The studio humidity meter was a little ugly and I have more time for silly crafts during the summer, so I gave it an upgrade 😅 indoor humidity to keep our beloved Steinway in tune should ideally be from 45-70%. Hoping to get a humidity control system installed on the piano this coming year, but for now this is what I'm working with!

Latergram! On May 19th we had our Spring 2024 recital with 16 student performances and a piece from Ms. Holly. Special thanks to the North Unitarian Universalist Church in Lewis Center for graciously providing their space for us, Ruth Whitehouse for organizing the reception, and all our friends and family for supporting our music-making. It could not have gone better and was a wonderful culmination for the end of spring term :) 🌷

Big music week! Lyrikos had our first group performance classes of the new year, and everyone has been volunteering three and sometimes FOUR pieces each to share with each other. A lot of impressive practicing going on. Also take a peek at the many hats I wear as a musician... I played with the Thomas Worthington High School choirs on Tuesday night (Mozart's Lacrimosa, some contemporary compositions and Americana tunes, etc.) and for the North Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday (some Duke Ellington, Dan Forrest, Edward MacDowell. Pictured gig scenery during our last big snow day). Yoga with live piano next weekend!

Our spring recital video is here! This was a great experience for my students to showcase soundtrack songs that are meaningful to them. They all introduced me to some really interesting pieces that were new to me and I even arranged a few of them to fit their levels.
