Listeners, it's time to select the KCII Area Athletes of the Week. This is our first fall sports edition of Athlete of the Week for 2026. It features football this week. We will add volleyball and cross country next week. Cast your vote by commenting the school on this poll post. One vote/comment per person. We'll feature the winning athlete on the KCII PM Sports Page 8/26 and 8/27 and the KCII Roder Epoxy Football Friday Preview Show 8/28. This poll closes Tuesday 8/25 at 8a.m.

Washington Football- Nic Stone- In the Demons scrimmage against Muscatine on the road Friday, Stone finished five of six passing for 27 yards, added 11 more yards on the ground and an interception on defense.

Mid-Prairie Football- Nolan Jergens- In the Golden Hawks scrimmage against Grinnell on the road Friday, Jergens finished with a pair of catches for 62 yards and a touchdown on offense to go with multiple pass breakups on defense.

Highland-Lone Tree Football- Hunter Seibel- In HLT's season opener at BGM, senior Seibel supplied the fireworks with 89 yard kickoff return for touchdown.

Columbus Football- Dante Orozoco- In the Wildcat's season opener at home against Cardinal, Orozco had three catches for 26 yards. He added 12 more yards on the ground and a pair of tackles on defense.
