🚀 And we’re off!

STARBASE Columbus is officially back in action, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year!

Our first group of Caledonia 5th graders joined us for Day 1, and Mrs. Shephard, Mrs. Long, and Mr. Thomas’ pod helped us kick things off with lots of smiles, questions, and excitement.

We’re looking forward to an amazing year filled with new experiences, discoveries, and memories made at STARBASE Columbus! ⭐

What an incredible first year at STARBASE Academy Columbus! 🚀

In less than one school year, we served 676 students, partnered with 4 schools, hosted 4 STEM camps, supported local science fairs, and inspired the next generation through hands-on STEM learning.

We're so thankful for our schools, community partners, military families, and everyone who supported us along the way. This is only the beginning!

🔨✨ What an incredible week! ✨🔨

Our first-ever Adventure Builders Camp has officially wrapped up, and what an adventure it was! From designing and building, to coding robots, engineering challenges, and creative STEM activities, our young builders worked hard, learned new skills, and had a blast every step of the way.

Seeing the excitement, teamwork, creativity, and confidence grow throughout the week made this camp a huge success. We hope our Adventure Builders made great memories and discovered just how fun STEM can be!

We can't wait to see you at our next STARBASE adventure!

🔍🩸 Case Closed! 🩸🔍

We wrapped up an exciting week at our Forensic Analysis Camp! Students stepped into the role of forensic investigators as they explored the science behind solving crimes.

Throughout the camp, students learned how to analyze fingerprints, conducted a blood type investigation lab, and discovered how forensic evidence can help uncover the truth. To put their new skills to the test, campers participated in a culminating case-solving activity where they examined witness statements, tire tracks, fingerprints, and other evidence to identify the suspect.

A special thank you to the Columbus Forensic Lab for visiting our camp and sharing their expertise with our students. Campers enjoyed learning about real-world forensic science careers and seeing how professionals use science and technology to solve cases every day.

We are proud of all of our young investigators for their hard work, teamwork, and attention to detail throughout the week. Great job, detectives! 🕵️‍♀️🔬🧬

Our Forensic Camp is officially underway, and what an amazing first day it was! Students jumped right into the role of forensic investigators by analyzing an art room crime scene, creating Caesar and Thomas Jefferson cipher wheels to learn about cryptography, and exploring chromatography through colorful tie-dye shirt experiments.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Madison S Darnell with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office for helping us kick off the camp. Deputy Madison took time to speak with our students and share his knowledge and experiences in law enforcement, giving them a real-world look at the field of forensic investigation.

Thank you for helping make our first day a success! We are excited for the adventures and discoveries still to come this week.

🚀 We had such a fun week at homeschool camp at STARBASE Columbus!

From building and testing to teamwork and problem-solving, these students stayed busy all week learning through hands-on STEM activities. We loved seeing their creativity, excitement, and all the great ideas they came up with! 💡✈️🔬

🌎📚 Last week, the STARBASE team visited the Columbus AFB Library to celebrate Earth Day! While all students participated, this moment captured Devin “Spirit” enjoying some quiet reading time. Students also planted flowers to help grow a greener tomorrow. 💚🌸
