Our animal of the month is Sandy, one of our resident gopher tortoises!

Fun fact about gopher tortoises, they are a keystone species! That means something they do or create has a large impact on their environment. One of those being because of their burrows! Their burrows are relied on for safety by over 300 different species. The indigo snake and gopher frog are amoungst those species🐸🐍🐢

It’s national insect appreciation day!

Insects do so much for our world🌎 They pollinate, some are predators and will get rid of other harmful insects, and all are a part of the circle of life!

Remember when you are out hiking (or just walking around) this summer it’s important to leave no trace! Leave that trail better than you found it!
