We still have openings for 2nd and 3rd-grade teachers to join the 2026-2027 Talk to Read professional learning cohort at little to no cost to your district.

Talk to Read is a research-based professional learning program designed to complement, not replace, your existing curriculum. The program provides high-impact strategies to:

- Strengthen literacy instruction by leveraging students’ personal language and experiences.
- Boost core outcomes in vocabulary, comprehension, and sight word acquisition.

The EdHub Library provides more than 500 online professional learning resources within the NEE Data Tool for easy access to educator professional development. EdHub resources for effective school leadership are specifically developed to support the research-based, highly effective instructional practices reflected by the NEE indicators.

School leaders and teachers can locate professional development materials inside the same online application where observations are scored and reviewed.

Meet the Early Language and Literacy Lab! The lab researches and supports professional learning across Missouri focused on early language and literacy foundations, family and community literacies, and early childhood educator well-being. Through playful language and literacy experiences, the team helps young children, educators, and families build essential literacy skills in engaging, meaningful ways.

The Early Language and Literacy Lab is currently seeking undergraduate students for hourly positions supporting data analysis and transcription. Interested students can contact [email protected].

A $10 million U.S. Department of Education grant is helping the University of Missouri lead the way in closing literacy gaps. Professor Betsy Baker’s new Amplify Literacy Learning initiative uses generative AI to help rural fourth and fifth grade students brainstorm, draft and revise their writing, all rooted in their own words and experiences.
