GABS is hosting a Back to School Bake Sale! All proceeds will be going to future GABS programming. Located in the Coker lobby from January 13th - 16th, 11am-1pm. Cash and Venmo will be accepted!

GABS got together to wrap presents for Families Helping Families! Everything was donated by members of our department and we were able to adopt 3 families from across Columbia! This is an annual event and service project the grad students organize every year! We are so thankful to be able to support our community! ❤️

Calling all botanists, herpetologists, birders, and anyone who loves the outdoors!!

You’re invited to a seminar by Dr. Eric LoPresti on how we can all contribute to natural history, at 7pm this Thursday, November 13, at the Columbia Garden Club Council building.

We especially encourage members of USC’s student chapter of the Botanical Society of America to attend this SC Native Plant Society Midlands Chapter meeting for our Fall 2025 event.

Also, stay tuned for details about an upcoming pollinator garden workday at the Biology Community Garden! We expect to build some beds in December or early spring, so save your seeds now for planting season.

Ready to do real science? In this hands-on research course, you won’t just learn about ecology—you’ll do it. Together, we’ll investigate how prescribed burns shape Southeastern pine communities and how these forests may be vulnerable to insect damage. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your research skills by refining methods, collecting and analyzing data, and tackling the challenges every scientist faces.

It’s spooky season! Come to Sumwalt College - Suite 311 from 2pm-4pm on Halloween to trick or treat! Costumes aren’t required but are welcome!

If you haven’t been seen yet for advising and you still need holds lifted from your account we highly encourage you to drop in!!
