We invite you to participate in a memory research study with the University of Missouri Working Memory Lab.
The University of Missouri Working Memory Lab offers both ONLINE and ONSITE participation opportunities throughout the year for children 4 – 10 years of age and adolescents 11 – 14 years of age accompanied by parents, as well as adults 18 – 30 years of age, residing within the United States. Our studies can be 15 to 120 minutes long depending on the study and all participants receive $20.00 per hour with an additional $5.00 for every 15 minutes after the hour. Onsite child participants receive a book selection from our library and may also be provided with stickers throughout participation.
Check out our current participation opportunities posted on our Experiment Signup webpage: https://memory.psych.missouri.edu/experiment_signup.html. Follow the study URLs to see if you or your child/adolescent qualify and book your online session or onsite appointment now! Your participation makes a difference! We thank you in advance for your participation. Now recruiting 4 and 5 year old children for our online study on language comprehension and working memory! This study takes about 45-60 minutes to complete via Zoom with a live experimenter.
Participants play a game where they are instructed to help an alien comprehend a new language task before it visits Earth. There are also memory tasks they will complete, including remembering spoken digits and the location of tokens in a grid. All children that complete the study receive $15 via Venmo, PayPal, or mail.

Participants must have a computer or tablet with we**am capabilities in order to participate. Children will be presented with visual and auditory information such as speech sounds, tones, musical notes, words, numbers, names, shapes, objects, pictures and/or colors and asked to remember and recall items using their voice, a pointing gesture, a keyboard press, touch screen or mouse click. The studies that we post can be 20 to 120 minutes long depending on the study (please refer to the link below for duration). Payment is $15.00 paid via Venmo or PayPal upon completion.
