Now that Senate Bill 11 is law, we’re breaking down what it does: expanding paid parental leave for eligible state employees, including temporary grant and time-limited positions, increasing paid leave for eligible non-birthing parents, and clarifying leave for families experiencing stillbirth.
Because families deserve time to care, heal, bond, grieve, and adjust without sacrificing their full paycheck.
That’s what progress can look like. 💜

Economic justice shows up in everyday moments, and it's shaped by the policies, systems, and opportunities around us.
We work to advance policies that help create a South Carolina where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Because when people have the support they need to succeed, our families, communities, and economy are stronger.
