The founding premise behind Social Era Entrepreneurs is entrepreneurial collaboration in an environment of intellectual stimulation; we call it our Intellectual Playground. The Members: Those that play on our playground include: (1) individuals with successful business enterprises, (2) individuals in the start-up phase, and (3) intellectuals that are business-minded whom can lend their brain, ideas, and energy to help others build and sustain a business venture. Through this, we have a dynamic group of intellects and entrepreneurs that create the perfect environment to energize the entrepreneurial spirit. The Goal: Through the power of the crowd, Social Era Entrepreneurs help each other succeed; we promote each other in social media, we attract the attention of a larger market and media audience, and we attract the availability of entrepreneurial resources. Essentially, by working together we create opportunities for each other. The Model: Gather all of the entrepreneurial talent in one place and let the talent incubate each other. As we call it, crowdconnecting. Being an entrepreneur is a lonely road; many people will try and take advantage of you, not many people will believe in you, and even fewer will support you. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we build off of the strength of our crowd. We gather the talent, we incubate the talent, the resources find the talent, and the venture is launched. As we call it, crowdlaunching. When the talent all gathers in one place, the resources (all of them, including financial) find the talent; no longer does the talent need to find the resources. This is a paradigm shift for the entrepreneur and the start-up venture; a true benefit of being a Social Era Entrepreneur. The Philosophy: Being a Social Era Entrepreneur costs you nothing other than your time. Your payment is your contribution to the success of others; and, your payment will be reciprocated through others contributing to your success. Through this experience, we believe each Social Era Entrepreneur will get out substantially more than what they put in. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we embrace the idea that we are an opportunity for each other, not a threat to each other; this is our culture. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we embrace the idea that there is enough to go around and that sharing yourself and your ideas with others will not result in a loss. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we believe being an entrepreneur is a mindset, not an occupation. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we foster a culture of civility and respect; egos and drama are not welcome here. As Social Era Entrepreneurs, we believe there are two types of people in this world: (1) Those that are committed to life-long learning and (2) those that live life to have their knowledge validated. The latter will not do well in this culture. Lastly, we have created an intellectual playground…be engaging, get involved, connect, collaborate, meet new friends, imagine, socialize, play, learn, create joint ventures, be adventurous, make a difference, and have fun.
