Happy Earth Day 2026!!!! Every year my horticulture students plant flowers with Ms. Dixie Armstrong’s classes at Tyrrell Elementary School as part of beautification and SAE project hours. Today was bittersweet knowing it’s my last year planting with Ms Dixie as she is retiring this year.

Fruit/Vegetable Team finished 4th - Not too shabby for my middle schooler’s first taste of competition!

Today Animal Science 2, Companion Animals visited Mrs Robyn and Mrs Tricia at Muddy Paws Bed and Biscuit. They have to demonstrate proper animal handling and grooming techniques/skills as part of their class. They did an amazing job and the doggies were the best part!!!

Yesterday my 8th graders learned about preserving foods and made their own grape jelly today. I forgot to take pictures of them eating it ( ) but they loved it!

My favorite comment: “This tastes like church wine” 🤣🤣🤣

The soap came out amazing!!! (They even smelled good too). The 2nd group is making theirs today 😍
