MEET YOUR YANA THERAPISTS:

-Narumi Amador, MA, LPC, CACI, Triple P.

Hola!I have always had a passion for connecting with and helping others.I am an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the State of South Carolina. My road to becoming a therapist has been quite a journey, but I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else or loving what I do more. My education includes a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Park University. I am currently pursuing PhD in Developmental Psychology. I am a CAC (Certified Addictions Counselor and I have been trained in Trauma Focused CBT, currently rostered through MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina). I also hold a certification in Triple p (Positive Parenting Program, Level 4) and I am working on a National Play Therapy certification. I have been trained in Therapy (Attachment based family play therapy) which I use with children with Reactive Attachemnt Disorder or any other attachment issues. My years of experience in the field have provided me with the opportunity to work with people of all ages, genders, religions, ethnicity, races and sexual orientations. I have experience working in client’s homes, outpatient treatment centers and in non profit organizations.

I am specially interested in continuing to expand my knowledge in the area of attachment and parenting and working with children and adolescents and their families. Another one of my interests relates to enhancing personal empowerment and growth among the Hispanic/Latino population in South Carolina.

Greetings! When pain enters our lives, it can be powerful and disheartening. This oftentimes causes us to isolate ourselves from others. I believe that healing is rooted in connection. My hope is that clients find their strengths and inner resources in order to improve their overall quality of life. Everyone deserves a fresh start. I work hard to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for my clients so they can start their personal, meaningful journey. During my years providing treatment, I encountered numerous individuals, families, and couples. I worked with my clients' mood disorders, trauma, addictions, relationship issues, anger management,self-esteem, and women’s issues. I also specialize in treating alcohol and other drug issues as a Certified & Master Addictions Counselor.

As a rostered TF-CBT therapist, I help adolescents, ages 4-18 address negative symptoms of traumatic events.. I am also rostered as a facilitator for Prepare & Enrich which focuses on premarital & marital counseling. I live by the motto, "if your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough".

Hello! I have been a helper since I can remember. It’s a purpose I feel called to and it comes from having a heart for people in all struggles. There’s just something about being in the trenches with others; learning from them and teaching what I've learned from years of school and training. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern, a Certified Addictions Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor with a host of other experiences implementing evidence-based treatment models. This is all awesome. But what makes me most effective is my ability to build rapport with each and every client I meet. Let’s face it, no amount of training in the world matters unless the relationship works first...and with me it works.

I fully believe things happen for a reason...even things that have been painful enough to leave a scar or two. My growing expertise in trauma work allows me to see things from a lense that helps me help clients identify what the root of their issues are. I am adamant about the counseling experience being that of the client’s. I am happy to be along for the journey. I believe counseling can be fun. All you need is a little motivation to work and be willing to engage in fun, effective interventions that you will surely be able to use even after your work together!
