Sociology Award Winners! Congratulations to associate professor Eileen Avery on winning the Provost's Award in University Citizenship in Faculty Service, to associate teaching professor Caroline Brock on her award for Innovative Educator Award from Sustain Mizzou, and to assistant teaching professor Doug Valentine on winning the Provost's Outstanding Junior Faculty Teaching Award!

More of our undergraduate students in action! MU Sociology student Albert Binfield presented his research entitled, "Art Worlds in Vienna 1900: The Fin-de-Siècle through a Sociological Lens"

During the Show Me Research Symposium at Mizzou, MU Sociology had four of our undergraduate students, Dilara Goshtaiy, Natalie Gorham, Roland Harrison, and Madison Lewis, present their work! Their research presentation was titled "'When things hit the fan': The Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on Missouri Food Pantries"

Thank you and congratulations to Department of Sociology Social Media Intern Lily Burger! Lily is completing her Bachelor's degree in Journalism with a Strategic Communication emphasis and will continue on to finish her MA next year through the 4+1 program. Her thesis will explore how audiences perceive creative AI in advertising. Over the summer, Lily will work as a Marketing Intern with the Fox Valley Park District in Illinois and travel to Scotland and Ireland with her family. She is especially looking forward to golfing with her dad in the Scottish Highlands!
