The Language Tree Spanish Immersion Preschool The Language Tree is a non-profit Spanish immersion school in Columbia, MO. Each summer we also run a 10-week summer camp.

We provide programs for students ages 2 to 13 including preschool, afterschool, and homeschool enrichment.

This week was all about la familia—family!

Students brought in pictures of their families and had the opportunity to share them with the class. This is a wonderful beginning-of-the-year activity, as the pictures become part of our Friends and Family Board.

The Friends and Family Board is a Conscious Discipline ritual designed to help connect each child’s home family with their school family. Students may use the board voluntarily throughout the year as a source of comfort, reassurance, and a sense of safety. It reminds us that we are all connected and that we are in this together!
