Welvista

Welvista A nonprofit providing free medicine to uninsured adults & dental care to underserved children in SC. Food or Medicine?

As costs of prescription medicines continue to rise and the numbers of uninsured reach all-time highs, providing a cost-effective source for life-sustaining and life-saving prescription medications becomes critical to the low-income uninsured. The number one chronic illness in children is tooth decay, 51 million school hours annually are missed due to dental related pain or infections. Through edu

cation, prevention and restorative dental services and access, Welvista makes a difference. Welvista exists to provide prescription medications at no cost to the low-income uninsured. That is the stark choice that more and more low-income uninsured individuals face. No individual should have to choose between food or medicine.

Behind every medication approval is a team dedicated to helping patients succeed. Our Patient Services Team works one-on-one with patients throughout the application process, answering questions, reviewing documentation, and providing guidance every step of the way. Their goal is simple: make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible so patients can access the medications they need.

We're grateful for the compassion, expertise, and support they bring to our mission each and every day. 💊💙

We're proud to partner with St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic, an organization that makes a difference in the lives of patients every single day.

Through their commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality medical care, the St. Luke's team helps ensure that individuals have access to the healthcare services they need. They regularly connect patients with the Medication Assistance Pharmacy by sending prescriptions to our team, helping bridge the gap between medical care and medication access.

Their kindness, dedication, and patient-centered approach are evident in everything they do. By helping patients receive both the medical care and medications they need, St. Luke's continues to have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the communities they serve.

We are grateful for their partnership and shared commitment to improving the lives of South Carolinians.

🦦😁 Say hello to the newest member of the Smiles for a Lifetime team! 😁🦦

We're thrilled to welcome our new otter mascot, Ozzy, who will help make oral health education even more engaging for the children we serve. This playful pal will be sharing the importance of brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits while encouraging healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Through school visits, community events, and special appearances, Ozzy will help make learning about dental health fun, memorable, and full of smiles for children across our communities.

Stay tuned—you'll be seeing a lot more of our newest team member. We think you'll agree, this mascot is otterly amazing!

Compassionate care can make all the difference. One patient recently shared how they learned about Welvista’s Medication Assistance Pharmacy through a community partner and received support during a challenging time.

With the help of Community Outreach Advocate Linda Stewart, the patient was able to navigate the application process and access quality healthcare services and medications. For many patients, having someone who takes the time to listen, provide guidance, and offer support can be just as important as the assistance itself.

Stories like these remind us of the power of community partnerships and the impact our advocates make every day as they help connect South Carolinians to the care and medications they need.

🧸🦷 Sometimes a little comfort makes a big difference. If your child feels anxious about visiting the dentist, consider bringing along a favorite stuffed animal, blanket, or comfort item. Having something familiar nearby can help them feel safe, secure, and more at ease during their appointment. A comfortable child is often a more confident child—and we're here to help every step of the way.
