Congratulations, Director Counts!

The University of South Carolina will honor students, faculty and staff members for their work on campus and in the larger community with 2025 Social Justice Awards.

Althea Counts, director of the university’s TRIO programs, will be recognized for 22 years of transforming the lives of low-income and first-generation students by helping them navigate the complexities of higher education and realize their potential.

Before the semester begins, USC TRIO Programs come together for the Annual Compliance Meeting. This year the focus of the meeting is a healthy mind and body and strengthening our work environment. Day One is complete, we left feeling refreshed.
