Tip #9 is a reminder about our Director Meeting, but it’s also a great opportunity to ask any questions you may not have thought of during your pre-placement visit with your child’s teacher.

The first few weeks of preschool can feel a little busy as everyone settles into a new routine, but Mrs. Renita is always happy to help! We want you to feel informed, encouraged, and confident as we begin this exciting school year together. 💜

Tip #8

Remember that separation anxiety is developmentally normal. Some children walk right in, while others cry for several weeks. In most cases, the tears stop within a few minutes after the parent leaves. Consistency is one of the biggest factors in helping children adjust.

A helpful phrase to use each morning is:

“I love you. You’re safe. Your teacher will take good care of you, and I’ll be back after school.”

The more calm, predictable, and confident the goodbye becomes, the faster most children settle into their new routine.

Tip #7 is all about subbing in our preschool!

Some of our very best teachers started out as preschool parents who simply stepped in to substitute. They fell in love with our ministry, and before long, they became part of our staff!

💜 At Pleasant Heights Weekday Preschool, Lisa’s legacy means so much to us.

As you’re out shopping for your own back to school supplies this weekend, we would love for our preschool families to join us in supporting Lisa’s Legacy: Caring for Kids.

Now through July 31, we’re helping collect two of the most needed school supplies for students in Maury and Dickson Counties:

✏️ Ticonderoga 2 Pencils
🖍️ Crayola Crayons (24 count)

If you’re able to pick up an extra pack (or two!), we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps local children begin the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.

You can bring your donations with you to your child’s pre placement appointment, and we’ll make sure they are delivered.

Tip #6 is very important!

We need to know about any allergies your child may have. We like to post allergy information in multiple locations throughout the classroom and preschool so that, in the event of a substitute teacher or another staff member stepping in, everyone is aware of your child’s needs.

If your child has a severe allergy that requires medication, we will also need a Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan completed by your doctor.

Our goal is to provide the safest environment possible for every child. If you have any questions about allergy forms or medication requirements, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We're always happy to help!
