E-Learning/Remote Work Day Monday, Feb 2, 2026.
We’re keeping a close eye on how the winter weather is affecting our community. The safety of our students, staff, and families is always our top priority.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the following changes have been made to school schedules:

Monday, February 2, 2026

E-learning/remote work
This is due to the potential for hazardous travel conditions as a result of winter weather. This means all schools and facilities will be closed, and all after-school activities are canceled.

For this eLearning day, students will receive asynchronous instruction. Teachers will post assignments in Google Classroom (or have provided paper packets). Specific instructions, including teacher virtual office hours, will be communicated to students and parents by their teachers and schools.

All assignments must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, February 4, 2026, for the student to be marked present for Monday, February 2, 2026.

Employees should check with their supervisor for specific directions regarding remote work expectations/logistics.

The district will continue to monitor the weather forecast in collaboration with Richland County Emergency Management Services and will make adjustments as needed. Click here for details about how we make winter weather decisions.

We encourage you to stay informed by monitoring updates from your school and the district. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep everyone safe.

Please continue to check ParentSquare, www.Richland2.org, and our social media channels for updates. Stay warm and safe.
