The Andrew Billingsley Faculty Award and Andrew Billingsley Community Leadership Award are biennial awards designed to honor one faculty member and one member of the Columbia community who each embody the legacy of Dr. Andrew Billingsley and his scholarship on behalf of African American families.

Bowman is a graduate of the African American Studies Program and has served as an adjunct instructor in our program. She is completing a doctorate in Educational Foundations and Inquiry at UofSC. Her work explores the intersections of Black girlhood, educational content production, and public media.
