Kindergarten "Independence Day" 🎆

Our kindergarteners celebrated Independence Day in red, white and blue - while learning what independence really means!

Teachers guided students through two big ideas: what they can do on their own (washing hands, putting away belongings, finding their seat) and when it's okay to ask for help (something's broken, they're hurt or sick, or they tried on their own first and still need a hand).

Knowing the difference is a big step for young learners, and it's how we build confident, independent kids from day one.

After making the switch to CIS last year, Clayton Roberts says he could see his three children blossom in our classrooms and friendly school community. We keep classes intentionally small so that every student gets time and attention from teachers, and aren't lost in the shuffle.

CIS Upper School students headed to Heartland Retreat Center in Parkville, MO, last week for two days of fun in the sun!
