Richland One Announces E-Learning Day for Students, Work-from-Home Day for Staff Tuesday; Normal Schedules to Resume Wednesday
Richland One leaders continue to monitor weather forecast and assess road conditions after the winter storm that impacted the Midlands over the weekend. Out of an abundance of caution, all Richland One schools and administrative offices will be closed Tuesday (February 3, 2026). Tuesday will be an e-learning day for students and a work-from-home day for staff.
All afterschool programs, activities and events that were scheduled for Tuesday, including athletics games and practices, have been canceled.
Since Tuesday will be an e-learning day, students will not have to make up the day.
The safety of our students and staff is always the primary consideration in deciding whether to change normal operations and schedules due to weather-related factors. Several areas around the district, including secondary roads, still have icy patches that could cause unsafe driving conditions.
Normal schedules will resume Wednesday, February 4. Students and staff should report Wednesday at their normal start times.

All Richland One Schools, Offices Will Be Closed Monday
Due to the forecast for severe weather, all Richland One schools and administrative offices will be closed Monday (January 26, 2026). Monday will not be an e-learning day.
All afterschool programs, activities and events that were scheduled for Monday, including athletics games and practices, are canceled. Athletics events and other activities that were scheduled for after 3 p.m. Saturday (January 24) are also canceled.
The safety of our students and staff is always the primary consideration in deciding whether to change normal operations and schedules due to weather-related factors. Richland County is under a winter storm watch through Monday and forecasts include the potential for significant ice accumulation, which could cause power outages and create hazardous road conditions.
Monday will not be an e-learning day due to possible power outages and resulting connectivity issues.
District leaders will continue to monitor and assess weather and road conditions and stay in communication with county emergency services teams. A decision about the schedule for Tuesday will be made Monday afternoon. Any other schedule changes will be announced to students, parents, staff and local news media outlets.
Updates will be posted on the district’s website (RichlandOne.org), social media, R1TV (Spectrum cable channel 1303) and the Richland One InfoPhone (803-231-7512).
