🏫We are excited to welcome Jordon Rayborn the Covenant community as the new First Grade teacher. Mrs. Rayborn and husband, Tucker, are moving to Columbia this summer to be near family.

Mrs. Rayborn is a graduate of Liberty University and since graduating she has been teaching second grade at a Christian school in South Florida. Mrs. Rayborn has a deep love for helping young students grow both academically and in their relationship with Christ.

In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, going on walks, and spending time outdoors. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Covenant community and looks forward to getting to know the families and students.

Welcome to Covenant, Mrs. Rayborn. We’re so happy to have you teaching at our school.

As we enjoy summer break, we’re still smiling about our second graders’ trip to Historic Camden! Students stepped back in time at this 100+ acre living history site, exploring what life was like during the American Revolution. 🇺🇲

🤗 Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Jannetti to the Grammar School as the Third Grade Teacher and helper to Mrs. McLawhorn in Kindergarten. We're blessed to have Mrs. Jannetti on board.

Mrs. Rhonda Jannetti and her family recently moved to Fort Jackson, where her husband serves in the U.S. Army. Originally from Texas, she has lived all over the world through military life, including seasons in Spain and Japan. She and her husband have three wonderful children: Ethan (4th grade) and twins Henry and Hazel (2nd grade), all of whom will be attending CCCS this year.

Rhonda holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M–Texarkana and has been a Registered Nurse for 18 years. For the past three years, she served as the school nurse at Faith Training Christian Academy in Leesville, Louisiana, where she had the privilege of caring for students and faculty while also sharing the love of Christ with their families. As her children grow, she has become increasingly aware of how challenging and how essential it is for them to receive a faith‑filled, high‑quality education. She is excited to serve alongside the staff at CCCS this year, helping cultivate both a joy of learning and a love for Christ in the students.

Since her family is new to the area, they are currently searching for a church home. They were active members of East Leesville Baptist Church before relocating and look forward to getting connected to a local congregation once settled.

In the rare moments she isn’t helping with homework, cooking, or shuttling her children to activities, Rhonda enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is grateful for the opportunity to join the CCCS community and looks forward to getting to know the families she will serve.

This summer, we’re grateful for a season of rest, renewal, and sunshine. ☀️ But we definitely miss the energy and joy our students bring to campus—so we’re taking a look back at Ludus Magnus, our annual day of Grand Games and teamwork!

👋Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Walker! We are grateful to have you both joining the Covenant community. Mr. Walker will serve as the Assistant Headmaster, and Mrs. Walker will be teaching Second Grade.

Darren and Michelle Walker grew up on opposite sides of the globe – Darren in the South and the Pacific Northwest, and Michelle in Australia. They both accepted Christ as Savior in their early childhood, and they both have devoted their lives to serving Him and following wherever He leads. Michelle received a degree in ministry from Adelaide College of Ministries (South Australia) and worked in children’s and youth ministry for several years. Meanwhile, Darren attended law school and began practicing law. During that time, they met, married, and settled in the Northwest. Several years later, after their kids Jess and Nathan were born, they moved to Australia, and Darren began teaching in Christian schools while Michelle worked on the staff at their church.

In 2016, they moved to Ohio, where they helped a traditional Christian school to transition to the classical Christian model. From 2020 to 2025, they served at Cair Paravel Latin School, a legacy classical Christian school in Topeka, Kansas, where Darren served as the Logic and Rhetoric School Principal and Michelle taught in the Grammar School. The Walkers have a great love for classical Christian education, and they understand and appreciate the way CCE works intuitively to shape young hearts and minds. They have worked tirelessly to build the movement, serving as mentors for classical Christian schools both in the US and abroad. They are frequent presenters at the School of the Ozarks Classical Christian Education Conference, speaking on topics as wide-ranging as avoiding mission drift, connecting students to God through transitions and catechisms, cultivating the discipline of habit formation, developing an elevator speech to talk about CCE, protecting the Sabbath, and more. Michelle has written and published CCE curriculum with Memoria Press.

The Walkers’ children are now adults. Jess is married to Colby, a heavy diesel equipment mechanic and inspector, and she is a stay-at-home mom to Adelaide. Nathan is a CPLS graduate and is working on his undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as running his own technology business.

The Walkers are excited about their pending move to South Carolina and look forward to the opportunity to serve the Lord at Covenant Classical Christian School!

🎓 Last month, we gathered as a school community for a commencement ceremony that was as meaningful as it was memorable. As we look back, our hearts return especially to the benediction offered by Mr. Stewart:

"May you not shrink from the dust and sweat of noble striving, nor curse the burden of the hard road.

May you have the courage to enter the arena.
May you know the triumph of hard-won victories,
but also the dignity of worthy failures.

May you never fear giving your blood, sweat, and tears when the cause is noble.

May you be spared the smallness of soul
that neither risks nor sacrifices,
that neither loves greatly nor strives valiantly.

May your convictions remain firm when applause fades. May you stand for what is true even when the standing costs you something.

And when your own great contests come, may you meet them with a warrior’s heart. So that at the end of days, you will not stand among the cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat, but among those who have dared greatly."

Spring Concert 2026 CCCS 05/28/2026

Summer has just begun, but our halls feel a little too quiet. So, we’re pressing play on memories from our Spring Concert, Let All That You Do, and soaking in that special night all over again. We are grateful for the time, effort, and joy our students and Mrs. Tackett gave to this performance. We hope you'll take a few minutes to watch and enjoy it.
