We are excited to announce Cory Sayyeau will be joining Heathwood Hall as our Boys Cross Country Program Head and Varsity Head Coach.
Coach Sayyeau joins us with a wealth of knowledge about the sport, having been a collegiate runner and coaching at multiple levels. He looks forward to building on the legacy that created a rich tradition within this program for so many years.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Highlander Nation and become part of a program with such a strong tradition and culture of excellence. I want to thank the Heathwood Hall administration and staff for trusting me with this opportunity. I’m looking forward to building relationships with our student-athletes and preparing for a successful season. We will remain committed to dedication and excellence throughout, and be leaders on and off the course.”

-Former Head Coach at Terry Sanford High School (NC)
-Former Head Coach of Midlands Track Club (SC)
-Former Assistant Coach at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School (FL)
-Ran Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School from 8th–12th grade
-Earned All-State honors during his senior season
-Competed collegiately at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach
-Served as an alternate on the U.S. Army Europe 10-Miler Team
-Competed in events ranging from the 800m to the Half Marathon

CONGRATULATIONS to Henry Morris ‘26 for winning the Bill Simpson Award!
The Bill Simpson Award is the highest award presented to an individual student-athlete in the South Carolina Independent School Association. The Award is presented annually to a graduating male and female student-athlete in memory of Mr. Bill Simpson. Mr. Simpson served the South Carolina Independent School Association for seven years as the Athletic Secretary.
Mr. Simpson, an educator first and foremost, laid much of the ground-work for an association built upon athletic and academic success. Throughout his career as a teacher, coach, official and administrator, he emphasized the importance of academic achievement.
