Class of the Week:
Ms. Williams’ Library Trailblazers
Ms. Williams’ library has been full of excitement this year! We have read loads of amazing books and have learned about a variety of different book awards. We have had clubs building blanket forts and making friendship bracelets. We have had two fantastic book fairs and a visit from author and illustrator, Ross Burach. Students have enjoyed visiting with our two axolotls, Gilly and Piglet and have even been able to observe praying mantises and ducklings hatching in the library!

Congratulations to Heather Reit on being named LSWCD Teacher of the Year
Lexington-Richland School District Five Instructional Coach Heather Reit has been named the 2026 Lexington County Soil and Water District (LSWCD) Teacher of the Year.
“Being named Lexington County Soil and Water District Teacher of the Year is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the importance of helping students understand and care for the world around them,” Heather Reit said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to inspire stewardship, curiosity, and a lasting appreciation for our natural resources.”
Each year, the Lexington Soil and Water Conservation District recognizes two local teachers, one from grades K-6 and one from grades 7-12 for their accomplishments in conservation education. These accomplishments can be either inside or outside of the classroom. The teachers selected locally will be awarded $250 each and will be entered into the statewide SCACD (South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts) competition.

Class of the Week:
Mrs. Howell and Ms. Jenkins Kindergarteners
At the beginning of the year, students walked in to Kindergarten nervous and unsure of what the year would hold. Now they walk out as confident, kind, and curious readers, writers, mathematicians, engineers, and friends. They learned to work together, to try again when things were hard, and to find joy in learning. I am so proud of the progress they have made. Keep being curious, keep being kind, and never stop dreaming big. You are smart, brave, and ready to change the world. I love you!
