~ We were truly honored to host the phenomenal guitarist Marko Topchii last week. Our students had the privilege of learning from his expertise during an inspiring masterclass held in the beautiful Gallery at Kroger Center for the Arts. Marko's recital at the University of South Carolina School of Music was breathtaking—a performance filled with virtuosity and profound musicality that captivated everyone present. The evening concluded with a well-deserved standing ovation, a testament to his artistry and dedication. Thank you, Marko, for sharing this unforgettable experience with us!

~Aaaand we are back in action!
We are very excited to welcome the incredible guest artist Marko Topchii next week. On October 15th, from 1:30 pm to 6 pm, our students will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with Marko at the Koger Gallery. Then, on October 16th, he will take the stage for a solo recital at the Recital Hall, School of Music, UofSC.
*Both events are open to the public and free of charge.*
This is an amazing chance to witness one of the finest musicians in the world right here in Columbia. Don’t miss out!

Yesterday, our students had a recording session at the School of Music. They recorded a piece that our student, James West, wrote this semester. Come to his recital tomorrow at 4:30 PM in the Recital Hall at the School of Music, and listen to the premiere of this piece, and, of course, enjoy solo pieces in James's performance.

What a week!
On Wednesday, April 10th, we hosted guest artists Jure Cerkovnik and Jake Hertzog, who conducted masterclasses, a pedagogy lecture, a clinic on applied harmony, and covered the basics of improvisation on the classical guitar with our students. At the end of the day, they performed an amazing concert on the beautiful avenue of College Street.

Tomorrow, Wednesday April 10 at 7:30pm two young and bright talents coming from the world of classical and jazz guitar will visit Columbia SC to join forces in a performance called 'Strings on Fire'. Jure Cerkovnik, professor of classical guitar at University of Geneva, and Jake Hertzog, professor of jazz guitar at University of Arkansas, will feature popular and original music on the two instruments in a venue endorsed by the ColaJazz foundation.
This free concert will take place at 2123 College Street in Columbia.
