The University of South Carolina's TechInLaw program is hosting this symposium TOMORROW in the Karen J. Williams Courtroom from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. This symposium will be discussing AI deepfakes, how they are impacting children, and federal/state legislation and legislation efforts for regulation.

Our state currently has two bills addressing these issues, S.995/H.4973 and S.996/H.4972. The committee on children just released their annual report, which details what the legislation is and why it is needed. Check it out at sccommitteeonchildren.org/publications

Some of our very own members will be participating in this symposium, so come and support them while learning about how we can protect our children online!

We had the great honor of collaborating with the Public Interest Law Society to jointly present the CLC Speaker Series Education Law Panel with Jennifer Rainville and Robert Lominack this week. We learned so much about education and issues with special education across our state. Thank you very much to our wonderful panelists and moderator, Professor Derek Black, for teaching our students about this topic!
