Lighthouse Exploration & Learning Center 'Lighthouse' is all about experimental learning within a child directed, Christian curriculum, enriched by art, literacy, science, math and musical activities.

A Unique Learning Place for Young Children

We are a state - licensed Preschool program open to all children ages 3-5 We provide a unique, developmentally appropriate learning experience for young children. We address all areas of early childhood learning: intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual. Our Preschool emphasizes creativity, socialization and cooperative play. Some of our indoor and outdoor activities include: Art, Blocks, Manipulative Activities, Sensory Table, Books, Music, Stories and other Orality (pre-reading) Activities, Woodworking, Riding and Push toys, Climbing, Exploring, Sand, Water, Nature Activities, Story Time and Bible Time. We offer the following pre-school classes:

2-day program: T-TH class: 9-12 pm
3-day program: M-W-F: 9-12 pm
5-day program M-F : 9am-12pm
5 full day M-F 8am-3pm

🍂🎨 Getting Splashy with Fall Leaves! 💦🍁

Our little learners had SO much fun with a colorful fall activity that turned into a whole lot of giggles, creativity, and hands-on learning! 🥰

Using cotton balls attached to clothespins and colorful liquid watercolor, the children got to let their very own fall leaves fall onto paper! 🍂🌈 With each little dab of color, they watched their trees transform into a beautiful fall scenery! 🌳🍁

The giggles started when we demonstrated how to make the leaves fall, and they only got louder as the children discovered they could make the leaves drop all on their own! 😂💦 Watching their excitement as they experimented with the colors and made each leaf fall was absolutely priceless!

Along the way, the children were strengthening their fine motor skills, practicing hand-eye coordination, exploring colors, and building creativity through sensory-rich, hands-on play. 🎨🤲

We just love those magical moments when a simple activity turns into so much joy, laughter, and learning! There’s nothing better than seeing our little learners light up with excitement as they discover what they can do! 💛🍂

🧸🌈 Teddy Bear Sorting Fun! 🌈🧸
Our little learners had so much fun with a simple activity that turned into a wonderful opportunity for math and conversation!

Using small teddy bears in different colors, the children sorted the bears into groups, carefully looking at each one and deciding where it belonged. 🧸🔴🟡🔵

As they played, the learning naturally grew! We talked about colors, shapes, counting, comparing groups, and math facts. The children made observations, noticed patterns, and shared their ideas with one another. 🔢💭

It was so much fun to watch them explore, think, and problem-solve while playing with their little teddy bear friends! What looks like simple play is actually building important early math skills and encouraging children to explain their thinking. 💛

We love those moments when play, curiosity, and learning all come together! 🥰

🔐 Math Meets a Little Mystery! 🔑✨
Math was a highlight in our classroom the other day—and we made it feel a lot more like a treasure hunt!

The children were challenged to match keys to locks using different clues: number dots, numerals, and number words. Once they found the perfect match, they got to turn the key and unlock the lock! 🔢🔑

What looked like a fun game was actually packed with learning. The children were practicing number recognition, counting, matching, problem-solving, and connecting numerals with their written number words—all while having a great time!

There were plenty of moments of excitement when a key finally fit its lock, and lots of persistence when it took a little extra thinking. 💭💛

We love finding creative ways to make learning hands-on, meaningful, and FUN! 🥰

🎨 All About Me! 💕
We’ve been learning all about ourselves! After spending some time indoors drawing pictures of ourselves, we took our learning outside and turned it into a fun, creative experience!

The children came up with the idea to use chalk to trace their bodies right on the ground — and they had SO much fun doing it! ✨

What made this activity extra special was watching the children work together. They practiced being kind and gentle, helping one another get into position, and giving directions and encouragement to their friends. 🥰

It was so sweet to see their creativity and ideas come to life while also practicing cooperation, communication, and kindness. 💛

Sometimes the best learning happens when we give children the freedom to take an idea and run with it! 🌈🖍️

There’s something so special about letting little ones experience nature with their whole bodies. Jumping in puddles, feeling the rain, squishing mud between their fingers, and creating their very own mud pies turns an ordinary rainy day into an unforgettable learning experience. 🌿👐

Rainy-day play encourages curiosity, sensory exploration, creativity, and imagination — all while our little learners are busy having FUN! 🥰 Sometimes the best childhood memories are the messy ones!

From pinecones, smooth stones, sticks, and leaves to shells, wood, and other natural materials, bringing the outdoors inside gives our little learners so many opportunities to explore with their hands. 🪵🍂🔍

As little hands scoop, sort, stack, grasp, pinch, and manipulate these unique materials, they’re strengthening those important fine motor skills that support so much of their early learning and development. ✋✨ And along the way, they’re using their imaginations, making discoveries, and learning through hands-on play!

Because sometimes the simplest materials can inspire the biggest learning moments. 🌱🥰

There’s just something special about bringing our learning outdoors. From running, climbing, and practicing those gross motor skills to exploring nature, using our imaginations, and enjoying some fresh air, there’s so much to discover! 🍃🔍🪵

Our little learners love their free play time, and there’s so much learning happening while they play! 🥰 Whether they’re building, pretending, creating, or playing with friends, they’re developing important skills along the way.

Free play helps children build social skills, communication, creativity, problem-solving, independence, fine and gross motor skills, and confidence. 🧩🎨🗣️🏃‍♀️

It’s a time to make choices, use their imagination, practice sharing and taking turns, and explore the world around them—all while having fun! 🌈

🏫💙 How is time already flying by?! We’ve gone from our first week of school to several weeks of learning, growing, and making memories! ✨
Our little learners are settling into routines, making new friends, discovering new things, and having so much fun along the way! 📚 From crafting and playing to exploring and learning, every day brings something new. 🎨🧩🔍

We’re so proud of all the growth we’re seeing and love watching our classroom fill with laughter, friendship, and sweet memories. 💙 Most importantly, we’re growing together in faith and learning more about God’s love each day. 🙏✨
