Our first SIC meeting of the year kicked off tonight and it was a success! We hope you will get involved this year, we have many exciting projects coming!

The SIC is still tingling with excitement!!
Last night`s 1st Annual Carver-Lyon Elementary School Talent Showcase was a smashing success!
We had: Tae Kwon Do, Bilingual singing, dance performances, drumming, and SO MUCH MORE! I hope you were in the crowd...if not, do yourself a favor and pencil it in for next year!

Congratulations to our very own Ms. Hernandez!! She is a dedicated and compassionate educator and this award is well-deserved.

AMERICAN LEGION SC TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Vivian Hopkins Hernandez, a fourth-grade teacher at Carver-Lyon Elementary School, who has been named the 2019 American Legion South Carolina Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Hernandez, a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, has been a dedicated educator for more than 20 years, spending 12 of them in Richland One. She considers student academic success and positive relationships to be her top priorities as a teacher.

“I’m humbled to accept this honor,” she said, “because there are simply so many outstanding, passionate, creative educators out there who challenge, inspire and support their students every day, especially in Richland One.”

We hope to see you tomorrow @ 6 PM for our final round of Talent Showcase auditions!!

Happy, happy, HAPPY Teachers Appreciation Week to all of our educators here at Carver-Lyon Elementary and elsewhere!

Bring the kiddos out next Thursday, may 9th at 6PM for the final round of Talent Showcase tryouts. We welcome all talent types: song, dance, poem reciting, acting skit, musical instrument, comedy skit, band rendition, ribbon twirling, karate demonstration, tumbling, a science experiment, sports demonstrations, etc. Choose whatever you would like to show off.
All performers will be rewarded with a pizza party!

All Richland One schools are closed tomorrow. However, lunch will be served at multiple sites. Read below for details.

All Richland One schools and administrative buildings will be closed April 15-19, 2019 for Spring Break. Regular schedules will resume Monday, April 22.
