PEAK Program for Leadership, Education and Adventure at Heathwood Hall

The 5th Grade Field Trip to Camp Cole was the perfect ending to these students' first year in Middle School! Campfires, field games, kayaking, and we even got to the be first camper group in Camp Cole's renovated swimming pool. This trip connected some things they've learned this year in a few fun ways like reenacting the Revolutionary War and recalling our knowledge of Lewis and Clark for map making. The talent show and dance party? Unforgettable!

Today 5th Grade student Hazel Sattler cashed in her PEAK Teacher for a Day Auction win! Hazel taught two Middle School PEAK Classes including a 5th Grade class where she led her peers across the Odyssey Course fearlessly. As Coach Hazel, she co-crafted an upcoming 4th Grade PEAK program and helped recruit some PEAK Student Leaders in the Upper School. Thanks for joining the PEAK Staff Today Hazel!

We held our first Bike Rodeo last week at PEAK with fun bike challenges around, through, and under our adventure courses. Riders even discovered new trails around campus and pushed their limits! Our PEAK Student Leaders came out to help our riders race against the clock and improve their biking skills. The best part? We're just getting started - stay tuned for our next Bike Rodeo for grades 1st - 4th and get ready to take on new challenges!

As we change the calendar for the New Year, PEAK looks back on all the adventure we've had here at Heathwood in 2025. Over 1,160 people have experienced the adventure of the Odyssey Course, 620 climbers have conquered the Sky Park, and around 300 pairs of little feet have balanced on our Ninja Course. As you can see from some of our other numbers below, we've have a pretty fun filled year! Here's to making 2026 even bigger!!

We are loving the extra hour of sunset goodness at PEAK After School Clubs thanks to Daylight Savings? Climbing the wall at golden hour is basically the best thing since pizza! 🍕

The experience of PEAK almost never has a measurable effect. We can’t track the growth of each student, the ways they overcome their fears, or put numbers on how the giant swing helps them be a better teammate. There are no grades. Sometimes PEAK is just about being silly after class and seeing how many helmets we can stack on someone’s head before it falls. This is how we like it. PEAK at its best. Heathwood Students experience growth at PEAK in immeasurable ways every single day. 💙💚🩶
