Lexington-Richland School District Five administrators continue to monitor the weather forecast for the next few days for any impact from Tropical Depression Nine.
We will operate on a normal schedule Monday, September 29, 2025, and the District will follow the advice of the National Weather Service and other local officials should any changes occur.
Any further announcements will be made using the school district’s automated telephone system, the district website, social media and local media outlets.

The second Tuesday is upon us, and you know what that means - PTO Meeting Time! 🥳🎉🎉 Join us Tuesday February 11th to discuss current needs, projects, and how we can continue supporting one of the greatest schools around - Leaphart Elementary! We'll see you there.

WEATHER UPDATE: The National Weather Service has updated their forecast for the wintry weather which includes a wintry mix, including freezing rain, for the northern midlands area on Friday, January 10, 2025.
As a result, School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties will shift our early release schedule up on Friday, January 10, 2025. School District Five schools, including the virtual FIVE program, will dismiss as follows:
- All Intermediate Schools release @ 11:00 am
- All Elementary Schools release @ 11:00 am
- Academy for Success releases @ 11:30 am
- All Middle Schools release @ 12:00 pm
- Spring Hill High School releases @ 11:50 am
- All Other High Schools release @ 12:05 pm
All afterschool activities and childcare remain cancelled on Friday, January 10, 2025. Friday night athletic events are being rescheduled, and the new times will be communicated by the individual coaches.
For any additional delays regarding school bus drop off, parents will be notified by the school district’s automated telephone system.

🌨️WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENT: The National Weather Service is predicting a wintry mix, including freezing rain, for the northern midlands area on Friday, January 10, 2025, beginning in the afternoon and lasting into the night.
As a result, School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties will operate on an early release schedule on Friday, January 10, 2025. School District Five schools, including the virtual FIVE program, will dismiss as follows:
- All Intermediate Schools release @ 11:40 am
- All Elementary Schools release @ 11:50 am
- Academy for Success releases @ 12:30 pm
- All Middle Schools release @ 12:45 pm
- Spring Hill High School releases @ 12:50 pm
- All Other High Schools release @ 1:05 pm
Students in half-day preschool programs will not meet. Students with morning classes at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies will remain at their home schools for online instruction from their teachers. Afternoon classes at The Center and adult education will not meet.
Lunch will be provided to students at school.

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! Join us next week for Holiday Market 2024 at LES! Students will have the opportunity daily between 8am and 2:30pm to purchase gifts for their loved ones. There will be a variety of gifts, and it's great active learning activity for our kids. Please support this venture by providing any amount of funds so that your child/student can participate. This is going to be a LOT of fun! Thank you so much for your support.
