In 2019, the Foundation has worked with the College of Engineering to identify a fundraising target with appeal to both alumni and to potential new engineering school recruits and their families. The goal is to raise funds for designing and installing a permanent interactive timeline display that will be strategically placed in Lafferre Hall. The timeline would tell the story and the achievements of the COE since its beginning, and serve as a source of inspiration to students, faculty and visitors. This display of the COE would be a continual source of pride and encouragement. A concept picture is shown here and you can use the Foundation website (http://www.mizzouengineeringfoundation.org/make-an-impact/) to make a contribution:

In October, the Mizzou Engineering Foundation conducted its Annual Meeting in Columbia, MO. The meeting was held the day following the COE's annual Scholarship Dinner. Many of the Board were able to attend this dinner and were impressed by the quality of the COE students who are attending the school and aided by scholarships. The Foundation has been able to contribute to those scholarship funds through many donations over the years. And many donors use the Foundation as a 501(c)(3) to forward their contributions, often enabling their employers matching funds which might be otherwise limited.

The Foundation Board of Directors was able to conduct our spring meeting during the COE's Engineering Week and attend some of the events hosted by the Advancement Office and Dean Loboa. Student/faculty demos, the Honor Awards Banquet, and lab tours were highlights, as well as a welcome by President Choi.

2018 Contribution to COE Excellence in Research: In 2017, the UMCOE Foundation held a fundraising campaign to raise money for Dean Loboa’s priorities for the College of Engineering. To kick off that effort, the Foundation provided $25,000 to the Dean so that three Excellence in Research awards could be made to Engineering faculty who were doing exceptional research. Again in 2018, the Foundation provided funds to the COE so that the Dean could award three more Excellence in Research awards to deserving faculty in September 2018. This again kicks off the 2018 fundraising campaign. Excellence in Research is one of the three priorities identified by the dean as described in our campaign flyer: Excellence in Research, Dean’s Excellence Funds and Alumni Outreach and Engagement.

Our Foundation is having a new fundraiser to target COE Dean Loboa's priorities to improve Student - Faculty ratios and the student access to research involvement, even while in undergraduate studies. If you are interested in helping, contact [email protected]. Our website is still in transition after we had to migrate our host platform this summer. Although unstructured temporarily, there is a donation form there. BETTER SOON...!!
