🇧🇩 Welcoming our newest Gamecocks! 🐔

The past couple of weeks have been all about new faces and new connections as we welcomed our Fall 2026 Bangladeshi graduate students to USC and Columbia!

Our newcomers recently attended two wonderful welcome events — the International Student Welcome Event hosted by International Student & Scholar Support at the University of South Carolina (ISSS) and the International Students, Scholars & Families Welcome Banquet hosted by International Friendship Ministries (IFM).

Both evenings gave our new students a chance to meet and connect with current and older BSA members, other international students, and members of the wider Columbia community. At the ISSS Welcome Event, students had the opportunity to learn about the many university resources and support systems available to them. While at the IFM banquet, they also got to sit with local hosts and learn a little more about life in South Carolina and the US - and four of our Bangladeshi students even went home with door prizes! 🎁

One thing that made us particularly happy was seeing just how many Bangladeshis showed up at both events! Our community at USC continues to grow, and it’s been wonderful seeing the newest members already getting to know one another and finding familiar faces in a new place.

A big thank you to ISSS and IFM for creating these spaces and making our new students feel so welcome.

And to our Fall ’26 newcomers — welcome to Carolina and welcome to the BSA family! We’re very happy to have you here. ❤️

As we begin a new chapter for the Bangladesh Student Association, we want to take a moment to recognize the people whose time, energy, and dedication helped shape the one we are building upon.

To our outgoing BSA Committee 2025–2026 — M Mozammal Hosen Utba Rashid Arif Sanim Zannatul Mauya Arunav Das Protik Nag — thank you for everything you have given to this community.

Behind every event, celebration, gathering, and shared memory were countless hours of planning, teamwork, problem-solving, and care. More importantly, you helped create a space where Bangladeshis could find a little piece of home away from home, while sharing our culture, traditions, and hospitality with the wider USC community.

In these posts, our outgoing committee members share a few words about what BSA and their time in service have meant to them. We hope their reflections serve not only as a farewell, but also as a reminder of the community they helped nurture.

From the BSA Committee 2026–2027, thank you for the foundation you have passed on to us. We are grateful for your service, your memories, and your contributions, and we hope to carry them forward with the same spirit of community. ❤️💚

With the new academic year approaching, BSA at U of SC held its annual election and selected a new committee to lead in the upcoming 2026-27 academic year!

BSA at U of SC ended its summer with indoor games, including badminton and Ludo, and the prizes were handed over by our Faculty Advisor, Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Rana!

Today BSA held its annual short pitch tournament between 3 teams and handed over prizes to winners with lunch for everyone.

This weekend BSA at U of SC hosted a friendly football match with the visiting team from BSA at GSU! The match was a draw with score 0-0.

BSA at U of SC mourns the death of the two Bangladeshi Graduate Students at the University of South Florida (USF) and expresses condolences to their family and friends.
