Exposure to nature is the norm at City Garden School! Each Friday (and everyday for three weeks in the fall and three weeks in the spring), our school holds classes at Camp Takimina, a 30+ acre private campground which provides incredible opportunities for authentic place-based education, habitat explorations, and time in the great out doors. At City Garden School, children blossom with a robust academic program, arts integration, nature immersion, and strong community. Children are rooted in relationship with peers, teachers, and learning in our tech free elementary classrooms and 'slow-tech' middle school program. While most of our summer camps take place at Rock Bridge State Park, we have a special middle grades camp taking place at our main campus this week. Check out the works in progress from Dr. Bruton’s sewing class. Stay tuned this week for more sewing projects, as well as art from Ms. Knapp’s nature art class, and work from Ms. Brown’s broadcast journalism class!
