The Judy Center Early Learning Hub at CRES We serve families with children 0-5yrs. Our families live in the Cradlerock ES area in Columbia, MD. This is the vision of Judith P.

All children will come to school ready to learn and prepared for success. Hoyer after whom the Judy Centers were named. She succeeded in shaping and enhancing the futures of thousands of students throughout Prince George’s county and Maryland. The partnerships she established with private agencies and public service providers improved school success through early intervention and comprehensive services to families with young children. The HCPSS Judy Center Early Learning Hub, located in the Cradlerock Elementary School’s (CRES) attendance area, serves over 500 children and 250 families each year. Our goal is to help families help their children become ready for school and to establish a path to success in their school careers. We serve families with young children (birth through age five). Our families live in the Cradlerock Elementary School attendance area, have children who attend Head Start or who have 4 year old children attending our Pre-Kindergarten and Regional Early Childhood Center programs.

This week in Playgroups, we continued our apple fun by using apples to paint and create colorful prints!
While children were having fun stamping with apples, they were also practicing important early writing and fine-motor skills:
Hand Strength
Hand-Eye Coordination
Bilateral Coordination
Cause and Effect
Pattern & Shape Recognition
Spatial Awareness

This Week in Playgroup!
This week in playgroup, our activities focused on developing fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and hand strength. Through hands-on, playful activities, children practiced using their fingers and hands with greater control and precision while building skills that support everyday tasks such as writing, drawing, buttoning, and using scissors.

The Cradlerock Elementary School and Lake Elkhorn Middle School block party is just around the corner on Saturday, and there is a rain plan! (keep an eye out tomorrow for a details and a final call).
