A Major Music's studio for music lessons is located in Columbia, MO, but we also have teachers teaching in-home lessons in the St. Louis, St. Charles, and KC areas.
Get paid to teach music, make your own schedule, and get free training on your instrument and how to teach!
We are currently looking for Guitar, Piano, and Singing teachers in all of our Missouri areas!
Columbia, St. Louis, St. Charles areas, & KC MO.
We also hire drum, violin, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and plenty of other teachers as long as there is a student demand for that instrument.
In Columbia you may have a mixture of Studio, In-home, & Video Chat lessons, but in the St Louis & KC areas it'll just be in-home or video chat.
We just don't get enough video chat only students to justify hiring someone as a video chat only teacher.
All teachers start out part-time. It takes time to determine which age range is right for you, and to solidify your lesson plans and teaching style. Over time, though, it is possible to obtain 30+ students.
The starting pay is $25/hour, and most lessons are 30-minutes per week. For in-home lessons you will also receive a drive fee of at least $2.50, but it can be higher if the student is farther away.
All teachers set their own schedule, but if your availability doesn't coincide with that of prospective students then we may not be able to give you many students. Because most students are children or working adults, you can expect to be teaching lessons between 3PM and 8PM, Monday-Thursday. They can go later, and they can also happen Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. This is up to you and the student.
Whether you are hired or not, isn't solely based on ability or knowledge. We provide training for what you don't know, and are happy to receive all applications. Don't be shy!
If you have reliable transportation, have great communication skills, are a reliable person yourself, are patient, and love playing music, then apply:

Once you've filled out an application we'll be in contact with more information and to set up an interview.
Feel free to ask any questions at anytime.
Thank You!
