Small nudges, big impact in math classrooms.
Sam Otten and fellow researchers are helping teachers strengthen math instruction through practical, research-based instructional nudges. These easy-to-implement strategies are designed to support student thinking, engagement and learning without requiring major changes to existing lessons.
Hallsville High School math teacher Melissa Hough says the nudges are effective because they respect teachers' limited time while encouraging meaningful learning. "The nudges provide strategies that can be immediately incorporated into the classroom and adapted for students of different ages and math abilities," she said.
Educators are encouraged to explore the nudges, try them in their own teaching and share them with others.
