Yesterday was , and we’re celebrating one of Alpha Gam’s best-kept secrets… was Cocky! 🐓❤️

“I started volunteering with Cocky’s Reading Express as a freshman and quickly fell in love with the program. Spending time in schools and helping encourage a love of reading became one of my biggest passions on campus! When CRE needed an additional Cocky my junior year, I jumped at the opportunity!

The joy on a student’s face when Cocky gives them a hug or a book is unforgettable. Being able to visit schools across South Carolina and share the importance of literacy with young students was incredibly meaningful to me.

Keeping the secret while being in Alpha Gam was definitely difficult, but seeing my sisters’ reactions when they finally found out made it all worth it. Most of my appearances were on Fridays, so I’d go from Friday Brunch straight to becoming Cocky. Having the suit hidden in my car always felt a little like living a Hannah Montana double life!”
