🎃🌱 From Pumpkin Seeds to Growing Plants! 🌱🎃

Ms. Bassett’s class has been learning all about the life cycles of plants using pumpkins! Yesterday, students got hands-on by carving a pumpkin and harvesting its seeds. Today, they planted those seeds so they can watch them sprout and grow! 🌱🎃

We love seeing our Spartans learning through fun, hands-on experiences that bring science to life! ❤️💙

Our 7th graders earned a special treat of chips and drinks for winning our September Attendance Challenge! 🏆

👏 7th grade finished September with an impressive 95% average attendance!

October is here, and we’re challenging our Spartans to SHOW UP and help their grade level WIN! ❤️🤍💙

6th, 7th, and 8th grades will compete for the highest overall attendance average for the month of October!

🎯 Our goal is 95% attendance!

🏆 The winning grade level will receive 30 EXTRA MINUTES at our Halloween Dance & Festival! 🎃🕺👻

⚖️📚 Freak the Mighty on Trial!

Mrs. Patrick’s 8th grade ELA classes wrapped up their reading of Freak the Mighty by taking their learning to the courtroom!

Students held a mock trial to determine whether Killer Kane (Kenneth David Kane), Max’s father, was guilty. Students took on the roles of prosecutors, defense attorneys, bailiffs, jury members, witnesses, and more.

Both sides were challenged to use evidence from the novel to build their cases, defend their positions, question witnesses, and prove whether Killer Kane’s actions supported a guilty or not-guilty verdict.

What a fun way to bring literature to life while practicing critical thinking, speaking, listening, and using textual evidence! Great job, 8th grade! ⚖️👏📖
