📚 New Board Member Training!

State law requires all new charter school board members —newly elected/appointed or re-elected/re-appointed —to complete initial board orientation training, and we’re offering several opportunities to meet this requirement this fall.

📍 In Person:
• October 12 — Charleston at Orange Grove Charter School
• October 14 — Spartanburg at High Point Academy

Experienced board members are welcome to attend as a refresher, and entire boards and school leaders are encouraged to join us as well!

Please register in advance so we can plan accordingly. Once registered, you’ll receive a calendar invitation with all the pertinent information you need to attend, including online links and location addresses.

The new state budget includes $75 million for rural and charter school facilities, opening a new door to public funding for school construction and improvements.

Our Executive Director Kevin Mason called the opportunity a “game changer” for charter schools across South Carolina.

We’re excited for the future of charter schools—and, most importantly, the students they serve across South Carolina. The future is being built today. 🏫✨

The one-time funding represents important progress toward providing meaningful support to schools with limited financing options, advocates said.
