One of our favorite parts of Read‑a‑Thon week is watching our Big Friends from the Elementary School share stories with our Little Friends in Preschool. 💛📖 The room was full of cozy corners, giggles, and sweet moments as our older readers proudly took the lead and our younger learners listened intently. These cross‑age connections are so special — and such a beautiful reminder of the community we have here at CSSC! 🌟

Yesterday’s Spanish lesson with Sra. Aguilar was all about Valentine’s Day vocabulary, and the elementary students dove right in. They made comecocos (fortune tellers), colored valentines in Spanish for friends and family, and practiced new words with enthusiasm. ¡Feliz día de amor y amistad!

But the sweetest moment came from the younger group. While they were working, they suddenly broke into a numbers song we learned earlier this year—completely unprompted. Then they asked Sra. Aguilar to play it, and the whole class sang along with so much heart. It was one of those small, perfect teaching moments that reminds you why we do what we do.

Today marks a milestone that has literally been a century in the making! We are officially celebrating the 100th Day of School during our historic 100th Anniversary Year! 🎉

At CSSC, the number 100 represents more than just counting days on the calendar. ✨ It’s 100 years of partnership with our college community. ✨ It’s 100 years of "Friday Feels" and hands-on learning. ✨ It’s 100 years of seeing every child for exactly who they are.

From our youngest learners taking their first bold leaps into learning to our older students exploring 100 years of history, today we celebrate the joy of learning that has echoed through our halls for a century.
