Yesterday’s Spanish lesson with Sra. Aguilar was all about Valentine’s Day vocabulary, and the elementary students dove right in. They made comecocos (fortune tellers), colored valentines in Spanish for friends and family, and practiced new words with enthusiasm. ¡Feliz día de amor y amistad!

But the sweetest moment came from the younger group. While they were working, they suddenly broke into a numbers song we learned earlier this year—completely unprompted. Then they asked Sra. Aguilar to play it, and the whole class sang along with so much heart. It was one of those small, perfect teaching moments that reminds you why we do what we do.
