Today, we honor their courage, reflect on the freedoms they protected, and keep their families, friends, and fellow service members in our thoughts. We are also grateful for the veterans and active-duty members of the GSSM community whose service continues to inspire us.

GSSM alumni making waves!

Alexander “AJ” Franz ’00 recently concluded his command of the USS Jefferson City (SSN 759) during a change of command ceremony at Naval Base Guam. Under his leadership, the crew achieved outstanding operational success, earned the 2025 Battle Efficiency Award, and demonstrated excellence across the board.

We’re proud to see AJ’s continued service and leadership on a global stage.

What a weekend! 💙

We loved welcoming **59 GSSM alumni (plus families!)** back to campus for the 26 GSSM Alumni Reunion Weekend. From walking the halls again and touring the old campus, to alumni panels with current students, shared meals, and dancing at the Mixtape Party, the weekend was full of stories, laughter, and Govies reconnecting across generations.

Thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to be part of it. Seeing friends reunite, meeting new alumni friends, and hearing your memories of GSSM reminded us just how special this community truly is.

Already feeling nostalgic? **Mark your calendars for next year’s Reunion Weekend: March 19–21, 2027.** We can’t wait to do it all again.
