Sweet treats and even sweeter learning! 💙🍦

Our 2’s friends celebrated National Ice Cream Month by opening their very own ice cream shop! From taking orders and scooping pretend ice cream to serving their classmates, dramatic play encouraged creativity, communication, and imagination. 🍨

We also mixed in a little math fun! Each child practiced counting by adding the correct number of colorful “sprinkles” to their ice cream, strengthening number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and fine motor skills along the way.

Hands-on learning is always the sweetest way to grow! ✨

🎨 Process Art vs. Arts & Crafts 💙

There’s a difference, and it matters.

Arts and crafts often focus on following steps to create a finished product.

Process art focuses on the experience.

Children get to:
✨ Explore different materials at their own pace
✨ Make their own choices
✨ Experiment with new ideas
✨ Create without a “right” answer

At Celebree School of Columbia-South, we love process art because it helps children build creativity, confidence, fine motor skills, and problem-solving skills, all while learning through play.
