Prosocial education isn’t just about kindness in the classroom — it’s about preparing students to become responsible, engaged citizens for life. PAL 2.0 is a grant-funded opportunity to help schools help students develop prosocial behaviors.

When students learn and practice prosocial behaviors like empathy, cooperation, and community involvement, they’re building lifelong skills that extend well beyond the classroom. These values contribute to healthier relationships, more successful careers, and a deeper commitment to their communities (Jones et al., 2015; Vergunst et al., 2019).

The start of a new school year is the perfect time to establish classroom norms and build a strong sense of community.

When students have a voice in creating classroom norms, they’re more likely to develop ownership and buy-in. This proactive approach to classroom management can help prevent unwanted behaviors, reduce discipline incidents, and nurture students’ self-regulation skills.

Haylee and Doug enjoyed seeing and chatting with so many Mizzou fans at the Mizzou Education & Human Dev. booth in the MU building at the Missouri State Fair this weekend!

Always a pleasure supporting our University and college, chatting with folks about Mizzou and education, playing Mizzou Rush or spinning the swag wheel, and seeing all the fair has to offer!
