The Talk to Read Collaborative is a literacy recovery initiative that supports second- and third-grade students whose literacy development was affected by the pandemic.

Through this collaborative, teachers, instructional coaches, and researchers work together to adapt Talk to Read strategies that help students strengthen reading skills by building on their own language, background knowledge, and vocabulary. The program also supports educators in embedding current state learning standards across content areas and existing reading instruction.

We are also exploring meaningful ways to integrate technology, including dictation tools, to support sight word development, reading comprehension, and student engagement.
