ATTN Language Educators!! TIME SENSITIVE! PLEASE RESPOND!
Presidential Proclamation 10014 Survey of Impact: Data Collection and Request for Exemption for Language Educators
In response to Presidential Proclamation 10014 and the suspension of H-1B and J-1 visa programs, JNCL-NCLIS has been working closely with U.S. Department of Education staff to request an exemption for language educators. We have been asked to document impact on language programs to follow up on our initial letter to the administration to further convey the necessity of H-1B and J-1 visa programs. Please share any additional useful data points and anecdotes below.

After a great meeting, we ate lunch at The Grand before heading our separate ways. Debbie joined the meeting via Google Hangout, though she at lunch in spirit! Missed Wendy, who was giving a PD!

WHOOOO! SC is finally going be BLUE on the https://sealofbiliteracy.org/ map of states who award the Seal of Biliteracy!!! MANY thanks to all the WL advocates, teachers and admins who served on the advisory committee working to make this happen!

A SPECIAL thanks to Wendy Stephens for working SO hard to make this happen and for doing a great job presenting it and getting it passed!! I am SO happy for all the opportunities this will bring our kiddos in SC! This is awesome!!!!

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages.
