We're excited to share an incredible opportunity that one of our high school students will be embarking on this summer! Upcoming senior River T. will travel to Tokyo, Japan, to study mechanical and robotics engineering. 🌏🤖

She earned this opportunity through a scholarship from CIEE Global Navigator High School Study Abroad, a highly competitive program that required essays and interviews throughout the selection process. River says, "I wanted to study abroad because I have always been intrigued by different cultures and the unique experiences that shape people’s lives. I want to widen my knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of people from different backgrounds, traditions, and places around the world. I believe experiencing other cultures firsthand will help me become more open-minded and better understand perspectives beyond what I see every day. My goal is to not limit myself to only what I know, but to continue learning so that one day I can hopefully make a positive difference in this world through greater understanding and connection."

We know this will be an amazing experience, and we couldn't be happier for River as she represents South Carolina Connections Academy abroad. Congratulations, River, we can't wait to hear about your adventures and all that you'll learn! ❤️
